MLR Semi Finals set for Sunday

A late change of plans for the Major League Rugby Championship Series will now see both Semi Finals played on Sunday. The original outline confirmed by the league last month had the top seed hosting the fourth on Saturday, with the number two seed hosting number three on Sunday.

Those plans were recently swapped with the top seed, San Diego, hosting on Sunday and the second seed, Seattle, hosting on Saturday. As it turns out the home of the Seawolves, Starfire Stadium, was unavailable on the Saturday, requiring the match to be moved to Sunday evening.

San Diego welcomes New York in the first Semi Final with the Legion entering as favorites having finished first overall in the regular season. Seattle will be favorites at home against Toronto, but not by much given the recent victory by the Arrows over the Seawolves and Toronto’s seven-game winning streak.

Both matches will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network, with a Facebook stream available for those outside the USA.
