DTH van der Merwe starts for Glasgow in Pro 14 Final

DTH van der Merwe will start for Glasgow Warriors against Leinster in the Guinness Pro 14 Final on Saturday. The Canadian winger continues his comeback from shoulder surgery, having made a surprise early return in last weekend’s Semi Final victory over Ulster.

Playing in a Guinness Pro Championship final is nothing new for van der Merwe. He scored a try in Glasgow’s 31-13 victory over Munster in the 2015 Final. That feat was then repeated when van der Merwe came off the bench to score against Munster in the 2017 Final while playing for Scarlets.

This will be Glasgow’s first appearance in the Final since their 2015 win. Leinster enter the game as defending champions, having won five titles in all since the league’s inception in 2001-02.
