Baker and Barrett back for Eagles

The Men’s Eagles will welcome back two of their star players in London this weekend as they attempt to put the finishing touches on Olympic Qualification. Perry Baker and Danny Barrett return from injury to take part in the penultimate round of the 2018-19 HSBC Sevens Series.

Two-time World Player of the Year Baker has been missing since late January after breaking his jaw at the Hamilton event. Barrett went down in Las Vegas with a fractured forearm. Martin Iosefo is also fit to play after being a late withdrawal before Singapore.

With a virtually full strength squad to choose from, Mike Friday will be confident of his team’s chances to challenge for another Cup Final spot. The Eagles are currently three points ahead of Fiji at the top of the Series table but have missed out on the to two spots in the last three tournaments.

Sharing a pool with the USA in London are Australia, Wales, and Spain. A complete list of fixtures can be seen here. ESPN will broadcast the two day event nationwide starting tomorrow.
