Jaguares Fly In Tuculet As Injury Cover

Joaquín Tuculet is to join Los Jaguares in Australia as injury cover. He is flying to Sydney today from Buenos Aires as a replacement for winger Sebastián Cancelliere who will miss the two upcoming matches in Australia against the Waratahs, and Reds.

Tuculet will not arrive in time to be considered for the match against the Waratahs. As such Gonzalo Quesada’s line-up in training on Tuesday saw rookie Santiago Carreras training in place of Cancelliere on the wing. He did so joining Ramiro Moyano, and Emiliano Boffelli in the back-three.

Tuculet missed out on the tour and also the two home matches beforehand after getting injured in the away win over the Sharks. His return will enable him to play in the final three matches of the regular season.

With an eye to international duty Tuculet’s recovery comes at the right time. Bautista Delguy is in doubt for the Rugby Championship which leaves Mario Ledesma with few specialist wingers to choose from. Carreras is uncapped which further complicates the planning.

In the running will be the European-based stars Santiago Cordero, and Juan Imhoff. Both will be considered to join Jaguares’ players in the Pumas roster.
