Americas Rankings – May 19 2019

Round two of the Sudamérica 6 Naciones A saw three matches taking place in South America. Of them one was capped and had Americas Rankings points on the line. The May 19 2019 Americas Rankings have been calculated to take into account the result from Medellín.

Colombia’s record 43-13 breaking win over Paraguay sees Los Tucanes claiming the maximum points at Paraguay’s expense. The updated rankings see Colombia rising from 49.84 to a new ranking of 50.76 points. In terms of the World Rankings this represents a rise to be ranked above Poland and 33rd overall in the world.

Both Colombia, and Paraguay are unchanged in the Americas Rankings. They continue to be 7th and 8th but Paraguay’s defeat sees them tumbling from 38th to 42nd in the World Rankings, dropping below Malta, Ukraine, Tunisia, and Uganda.

The Sudamérica 6 Naciones A will conclude next weekend. It will be 2018 champions Brazil at home against the Argentina XV; the Uruguay XV hosting Colombia; and Paraguay at home against Chile. The third of these fixtures will be capped and is to be the only one counting towards Americas Rankings.
