Los Jaguares’ historic win over the Hurricanes saw the Argentine Super Rugby side ticking off the third, and final, North Island Super Rugby team. Following the 2018 wins over the Chiefs, and Blues Los Jaguares have now completed the treble.
As impressive a fact as the treble certainly is the players and staff have pressing matters of two more matches on their present tour. They are to face the Waratahs, and Reds in Australia over the coming weekends.
Based on the performance earlier today against the Hurricanes, as well as the season in general, Los Jaguares are well placed to achieve further victories on the road.
Winning in Wellington, though, will remain in the memory of the players and die-hard fans for a long time. Los Pumas have tried and failed at the venue as did Los Jaguares in 2016. For Agustín Creevy, and Juan Manuel Leguizamón today’s win was a second victory with the first having been back in RWC 2011 for Argentina and Scotland.
On that occasion Creevy was on the bench covering Mario Ledesma who is now the Head Coach of Argentina. Ledesma would have been paying careful attention to the perfomance today in Wellington as he finalizes his roster for the upcoming Rugby Championship.
