RWC 2019 Referees Appointed for Rugby Championship

World Rugby has confirmed the officials for this year’s Rugby Championship tournament. The appointed referees are all men who will officiate matches at RWC 2019 in Japan.

The annual competition between Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa will be played under a reduced format this year. The reason for this is that it is a RWC year which means there is a reduced calendar.

The reduction of matches has not seen a reduction of officials as all six matches will be refereed by a different man. The six referees come from three different countries – Australia, France, and New Zealand.

Argentina will not have any official involved at all in the competition. South African officials Jaco Peyper, and Marius Jonker will act as an assistant and TMO for Australia vs New Zealand.
