New date for Houston vs Glendale, Free Jacks vs Arrows off

Saturday’s postponed Major League Rugby regular season match between the Houston SaberCats and Glendale Raptors has been officially rescheduled. Heavy rain and flooding in Houston led to the game at the AVEVA Stadium being called off. It will now be played on Wednesday, May 29, at 7:30pm local time.

It’s a tough ask for the SaberCats, who will have to play three games in a week – as the Toronto Arrows did this past week. While they are out of the playoff hunt, the Glendale Raptors are very much in it. They will travel to Houston for what will now be their final regular season game on only two days rest after their pivotal game against the Arrows in Toronto.

Meanwhile the proposed exhibition match between the Arrows Academy side and the New England Free Jacks this coming weekend has been postponed. Damage to Brophy Field at Dartmouth College saw the game cancelled. At this time there has been no rescheduled date confirmed.
