Titi Lamositele’s big week just got a little bigger. The US Eagles prop started for Saracens in the Champions Cup final against Leinster on Saturday, following in the footsteps of former international captain Chris Wyles to claim European rugby’s biggest prize in the 20-10 win.
On Tuesday evening the London-based Premiership club held its annual ‘Big Bash’ awards banquet. Lamositele came away with more plaudits, being named Young Player of the Year. The 24-year-old was in esteemed company with other awards going to Australian lock Will Skelton and European Player of the Year Alex Goode.
This season is Lamositele’s fifth with Saracens. With one round left he has started a career-most six Premiership games, while making five appearances in the Champions Cup including two starts. He is expected to play a leading role for the Eagles in this year’s World Cup campaign, having won 27 test caps for the USA since his debut in 2013.
