Josua Vici will leave the Houston SaberCats at the end of the Major League Rugby season to join Colomiers. The French Pro D2 side has confirmed the signature of the Fijian flyer after staving off relegation to the French third division, Fédérale 1.
The news comes just a day after the axe fell on the tenure of SaberCats coach Justin Fitzpatrick. Vici had been a key addition to the side when he joined in September 2017. He has since established himself as one of the premier finishers in MLR, scoring 7 tries in just 9 regular season matches.
Early on Thursday the league announced that Vici’s eight-week suspension for dangerous play against the NOLA Gold had been reduced to five weeks. He is now expected to play for the SaberCats under interim coach Paul Emerick in Sunday’s game against Rugby United New York.
