Pumitas Confirmed for Junior World Championship

The Head Coach of Los Pumitas, José Pellicena, has confirmed a 28-man roster for the Junior World Championship. Taking place next month in Rosario, and Santa Fé, Argentina will have home advantage against the world’s best at the junior level.

Pellicena has named seven returning players. They are Juan Pablo Castro, Santiago Chocobares, Mateo Carreras, Gonzalo García, Joaquín De la Vega, Bautista Pedemonte, and Ignacio Mendy.

Los Pumitas are to play in Group A of the Junior World Championship, doing so against Fiji, France, and Wales. They will open the tournament on Wednesday June 04 against Wales at the Hipódromo in Rosario.

Game two for Los Pumitas will be on Saturday, June 08 against Fiji at CRAI in Santa Fé, while game three will be back at the Hipódromo against France on Wednesday June 12.

Los Pumitas have been busy preparing for the tournament. Yesterday they played against the national senior next-of-XV, the Argentina XV in Córdoba. They also toured South Africa claiming wins over Georgia, South Africa and Namibia’s senior next-of-XV, the Namibia XV.
