Tranquez Wins 2018 Brazilian player of the Year Award

Fullback Lucas Tranquez has been named as the Brazilian Player of the Year for 2018. ‘Zé’ won the award at a special ceremony on Monday at Novotel in São Paulo. The awards were the 9th annual edition recognizing excellence in Brazilian rugby.

Tranquez played both fullback and wing for Brazil in 2018, doing so in seven appearances. His seven caps included tries against Chile, and Colombia.

Bianca Silva won the Women’s player of the year award while Tranquez’s clubman, Daniel Lima won the Sevens player of the year award.
