Joaqúin Díaz Bonilla Among The Fit Again Names For Jaguares

Joaquín Díaz Bonilla is fit-again for Los Jaguares. Having missed the recent tour to South Africa the fly half is back training normally and an option to start against the Brumbies this coming Saturday in Buenos Aires.

In the absence of Díaz Bonilla Santiago González Iglesias started at 10 against the Bulls, while Domingo Miotti did so against the Sharks. Miotti did so after debuting from the bench to replace González Iglesias.

The training formation today saw Miotti looming as the starting fly half against the Brumbies. He played outside former Brumbies scrum-half Tomás Cubelli today. The duo played extremely well in the win in Durban over the Sharks.

Also active in training today were second-rower Lucas Paulos and loose head prop Javier Díaz. Like Díaz Bonilla, both players are fit again for Los Jaguares and will be available for Gonzalo Quesada against the Brumbies. Paulos’ inclusion is of note as the return of Matías Alemanno continues to be delayed.

Under an injury cloud is Ramiro Moyano. The starting winger is set to recover from injury which saw Sebastián Cancelliere training in the starting formation together with Joaquín Tuculet, and Emiliano Boffelli in the back-three.

Out of facing the Brumbies is Matías Moroni. He filled-in for Moyano against the Bulls but his next match will be no earlier than against the Stormers on Saturday May 04. Matías Osadczuk has joined the team this week as injury cover.

Also being considered to return against the Stormers is Martín Landajo. The Harlequins-bound scrum-half is still sidelined following breaking his jaw playing against the same opposition in South Africa in March.

Veteran flanker Juan Manuel Leguizamón is another close to returning. The veteran of RWCs 2007, 2011, and 2015 continues to nurse his sprained knee injury in time to be considered to face the Stormers. The same applies to Lucio Sordoni who flew home from South Africa with a bicep injury following facing the Bulls.

Returns for three others remain unlikely. Gonzalo Bertranou and Bautista Delguy were both ruled out for the season while Matías Alemanno is trying to avoid joining them. His recent bunion surgery makes a return before the final round match against the Sunwolves on June 15 questionable.
