Landry, Paquin, Kelter named in Kitakyushu Dream Team

Three North American players have been included in the official HSBC Dream Team for the Kitakyushu Sevens. Cup Final winners Canada contributed captain Ghislaine Landry and Karen Paquin, with Alev Kelter the only selection from the Bronze-winning USA side.

Landry’s outstanding tournament was capped by the tournament-winning try and conversion on the last play of the Cup Final against England. Paquin was playing in her first top level sevens tournament since Rio 2016 and showed that she is on track to make her second Olympic Games in 2020.

Kelter was the tournament’s leading point scorer with 53. Her tournament started out on a high note with two tries and four conversions in the one-sided win over eventual finalists England.

Joining Kelter and Landry in the backs was England’s Holly Aitchison and the tournament’s leading try-scorer – Anne-Cecile Ciofani of France. Alex Matthews from England and Chloé Pelle of France round out the forward beside Paquin.
