Changes to three upcoming MLR games confirmed

Three upcoming Major League Rugby fixtures have been hit with significant changes. Two have been necessitated by the choppy turf conditions at Houston’s AVEVA Stadium that saw scrums declared uncontested in the first half of the opening match at the new venue on Saturday. It’s hoped that the new surface will be settled in time for the May 11 fixture against Glendale.

As a result, two matches planned to be played at AVEVA Stadium have been relocated. Houston’s match against San Diego on April 28 will now be played at Dyer Stadium, where the SaberCats played their 2018 regular season matches. Austin Elite were due to play the NOLA Gold in Houston on May 4. That match will now be played at Gold Stadium in New Orleans.

Last weekend’s match between the Toronto Arrows and Austin Elite was postponed due to weather. It has now been rescheduled for Thursday, May 9. It will be played at the original venue of York Alumni Field, with kickoff slated for 7pm local time.
