Dual-international star Karen Paquin will return to action for Canada at the Kitakyushu Sevens. The World Cup flanker and Olympic Bronze Medalist has not represented Canada since WRWC 2017 in Ireland, having just returned to the development squad in March from a long-term knee injury.
Ghislaine Landry will make her 30th HSBC Sevens Series appearance, a milestone recently reached by Kayla Moleschi and Bianca Farella, while there is one debutante named in the final squad of 12. Vulcan, Alberta, native Keyara Wardley should make her senior bow having played for Canada u18 last year.
Canada enters the second half of the 2018-19 circuit in 3rd place overall. They have been drawn in Pool B along with Australia, Spain, and China. The two-day tournament begins on Saturday, April 20 local time, late Friday evening North American time.
