Two playoff contenders went toe-to-toe on Sunday at MCU Park. Rugby United New York were looking to continue their unbeaten home record but were facing a confident San Diego Legion side equally keen to move up the ladder. The misty weather and Coney Island backdrop made for an eventful afternoon.
New York had welcomed back many of their stars including halfbacks Mike Petri and Cathal Marsh, while the promising Seimou Smith got his first big assignment on the wing. San Diego were short on locks with Keni Nasoqeqe still under suspension but otherwise at full strength.
