Facundo Bosch scores for Agen against Montpellier

Argentine World Cup hopeful Facundo Bosch scored a well taken try on Saturday, barging over to score for Agen in their loss against Montpellier. The score was a classic hooker’s try yet came with him playing out  of position at flanker.

Bosch started the match at hooker but was moved to flanker as the match unfolded. He would make the score from the second phase after a 5-meter attacking lineout. He was set as the ball carrier and with excellent body position was able to get his way over to score.

The 27-year-old was a Jaguar in 2016, the inaugural Super Rugby season for the Argentine franchise. With game time hard to come by he took up an offer to move to France. It proved to be highly successful with him set to leave Agen for La Rochelle next season.

Agen’s needs have seen Bosch playing regularly at flanker. While it may appear to be a disadvantage for his World Cup chances, it is actually quite the opposite. Argentina has a shortage of flankers at present which makes Bosch a potentially unique utility option for Mario Ledesma.
