English Premiership – Week 18 Preview

Only five rounds remain in the regular season of the English Premiership. This weekend will see week 18 of the season taking place. Involved are to be RWC 2019 hopefuls from Argentina, Canada, and the USA.

Getting week 18 underway will be the Sale Sharks vs Harlequins. The fixture is to be the only Friday match this round. Involved for the home side will be AJ MacGinty. The USA Eagles fly half will be the starting 10.

On Saturday the 2nd placed Saracens entertain bottom of the table Newcastle. Should the Falcons come away with points it will further the pressure on both Worcester and Leicester. Canadian international Evan Olmstead will start in the second-row for the Falcons while Eagles prop Titi Lamositele will feature as a replacement for Saracens.

In Coventry the Wasps play host to the Worcester Warriors. Involved for the Warriors will be USA hooker Joe Taufete’e as a replacement. The Warriors go into the game with 32 competition points, three more than that of Newcastle.

Also threatened with relegation are the Leicester Tigers. The most successful English club of all time is third from bottom and in serious trouble. On 34 points the club needs to get more points quickly. Unfortunately the prospects are not the best as their match on Saturday is against league leaders the Exeter Chiefs. The fixture will see uncapped Argentine prop Facundo Gigena featuring from the bench while RWC 2015 winger Santiago Cordero will start for Exeter at fullback.
