South American Players in MLR – Week 10 Preview

Week 10 of Major League Rugby (MLR) will see a complete round of four league matches. These games are to be played on Saturday, and Sunday in the USA. The following preview details which players from South America will feature in week 10.

First up will be the bottom-of-the-table Austin Elite playing against Rugby United New York in Texas.  The Elite have named three Uruguayan internationals in their starting line-up. Juan Echeverría will play tight head; Rodrigo Silva fly half; and Andrés Vilaseca at inside center. All three are well-placed to go to RWC 2019. Joining them against RU New York from the bench will be Chilean Marcelo Torrealba.

In Denver the Glendale Raptors play host to NOLA Gold. The visitors go into the match with Uruguayan enforcer Ignacio Dotti starting the game in the second-row. He is set to be a key player for Los Teros in Japan this year. Chilean Nikola Bursic will also start, doing so at flanker.

Also in the Rocky Mountains the Utah Warriors have home advantage against the Toronto Arrows. They have named Brazilian test fly half Josh Reeves to start at pivot and fellow Tupi Arthur Bergo is to make his MLR debut from the bench covering flanker. Uruguay’s Gastón Mieres will be the starting fullback for Toronto.

Week 10 will conclude on Sunday with the Seattle Seawolves vs San Diego Legion. Line-ups for this match have not yet been confirmed. The Seawolves are home to Argentine-born USA raised fly half Ben Cima.
