Seattle Seawolves sign Joey Iosefa

The Seattle Seawolves have confirmed the signing of former NFL running back Joey Iosefa. The 27-year-old played for the Houston SaberCats during the 2018 Major League Rugby season and appeared during the preseason for the Seawolves but most recently has been running out for the Seattle Saracens in the CDI Premier League.

Hailing from American Samoa, Iosefa played collegiate football at the University of Hawaii. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2015 NFL draft but didn’t end up playing for the Bucs, instead signing for the New England Patriots later that year. After one season with the team he was released by the team.

Iosefa made an immediate impact for the SaberCats with his size and power in the midfield proving a handful. He scored a try with his first touch off the bench against Austin Elite, and would go on to play six games, starting once.
