Challenge Cup – Quarter Finals Preview

The knock-out phase of European club competition has arrived. In the Challenge Cup the four Quarter Finals will be played this weekend. Involved in the season-defining matches are to be Americas’ players. The following preview documents their involvement.

The first Quarter Final will be an English vs Irish fixture. Taking place later on today in the Greater Manchester area the Sale Sharks play host to Connacht. Starting for the hosts at fly half will be AJ MacGinty who joined Sale from Connacht after winning the Pro 14 with them.

On Saturday an all-English play-off sees the Worcester Warriors at home against the Harlequins. Named as the replacement hooker is Joe Taufete’e. Both he and MacGinty are set to be key players for the USA in RWC 2019.

The two remaining Quarter Finals are to be played in France on Sunday. La Rochelle and Clermont will have home advantage against English clubs Bristol, and Northampton. No Americas players will feature in these matches.
