Santiago Álvarez Fourcade Replaces Revol As Pumas 7’s Captain.

Santiago Álvarez Fourcade Replaces Revol As Pumas 7’s Captain. The 2016 Olympian takes over from the veteran 32-year-old who steps down after setting a new appearance record.

Gastón Revol left his post as Los Pumas 7’s captain this week. He did so after having played in 321 matches on the World Sevens Circuit, a number greater than that of all other players past and present.

His replacement as captain comes from Bahía Blanca. Santiago Álvarez Fourcade takes over the leadership as a player to have been on the verge of playing Super Rugby for Los Jaguares only to have not made an appearance.

For Los Pumas 7s Álvarez Fourcade has played in 174 matches for a return of 28 tries. Aged 25 he is much younger than Revol and can be a player for the team to be built around over the coming years.
