Pumitas To Tour South Africa

Los Pumitas are to tour South Africa. The Argentine u20s will warm-up for this year’s Junior World Championship by playing three matches in South Africa in April.

José Pellicena will take a playing roster across the South Atlantic for a tour beginning on April 09. First up for Los Pumitas will be a friendly match against the Namibia XV. Four days later, on Saturday April 13 Los Pumitas will play against Georgia u20s. The final match will be on Wednesday April 17 against South Africa u20s.

Argentina is to host the 2019 Junior World Championship. The World Rugby competition will take place in Rosario and Santa Fé from June 04-22. Los Pumitas will play in the tournament opener against Wales on June 04.

The 2019 Junior World Championship will be Argentina’s second turn as the host nation. The previous occasion was in 2010 while the tournament was first played in 2008, replacing the former u19s and u21s tournaments. Argentina’s best place came in 2016 when Los Pumitas finished third.
