Women’s Eagles to play Barbarians at Infinity Park

The USA Women’s Eagles will play against the Barbarians at Infinity Park on April 26. It will be the first match of a unique double-header, to be followed by the Major League Rugby fixture between the Glendale Raptors and Rugby United New York.

It’s been 43 years since the Barbarians toured the USA, the men’s side playing eight matches during a three-week trip in 1976. The women’s version of the famed invitational club did not exist until 2017 and has only played two games thus far, wins against Munster and the British Army.

April’s match will be an historic first for the Barbarians, the first time they will play against a full international side. They will then take on England at Twickenham in June.

The timing of the match is not coincidental as it will signal the end of the High Performance Camp, to be hosted at Glendale, with the match day roster to be selected from those participating. It will also serve as a warm-up for the USA’s soon-to-be-announced June test series.

Tickets for the double-header are available now on the Glendale Raptors website.
