Women’s circuit expands as 2019-20 Sevens Series confirmed

World Rugby has announced an expanded women’s circuit as part of the 2019-2020 HSBC Sevens Series. Currently at six tournaments, women’s events will grow to eight next season with six of those taking place alongside men’s events. Both of those marks are the highest ever seen on the circuit.

In addition to the combined events, the women’s circuit will retain events at Glendale’s Infinity Park and Langford’s Westhills Stadium. The latter is currently undergoing renovations to increase its capacity to from 1,700 to 6,000.

Also confirmed is the official departure of the HSBC circuit from Las Vegas. While the USA will retain its spot on the circuit, World Rugby is currently reviewing bids for a new location to be announced before the end of the 2018-19 season.
