Ulster name traveling squad for Cara Cup

Ulster have named a 24-strong ‘A’ squad to take part in their Cara Cup fixtures hosted by the New England Free Jacks. The team will play against fellow Irish provincial group Connacht on Wednesday, with a match against the Free Jacks on Sunday.

Former Ireland internationals Kieran Campbell and Willie Anderson will coach the team that includes four senior squad members. Among them is Johnny McPhillips, a former Ireland u20 star who at 22 is already his his second Guinness Pro 14 season and has two Champions Cup campaigns under his belt.

Also named are nine members of Ulster’s senior academy program including two players who were part of Ireland’s u20 Grand Slam side in recent weeks – prop Callum Reid and loose forward David McCann.
