MLR Full Match – Glendale Raptors vs Austin Elite

Saturday’s only Major League Rugby match saw the Glendale Raptors hosting Austin Elite. While still a bit chilly at Infinity Park, it was at least a marked improvement on the incredible scenes from the previous week that had the Raptors and Arrows playing in a blizzard.

Glendale gave Casey Rock his first start of the season and had to rely on third-string scrumhalf Mickey Bateman after Carlo de Nysschen was injured mid-way through the first half. Austin lost hooker Peter Malcolm before kickoff but featured Canadian flanker Moe Abdelmonem who was making his MLR debut.
