Connacht name touring squad for Cara Cup

Connacht have named a 26-man Eagles development squad to play two matches in the upcoming Cara Cup. The five-team tournament will see the New England Free Jacks playing host to development squads from Ireland’s four Guinness Pro 14 franchises.

Former Munster utility back Mossy Lawler travels as coach of the side, with former Leicester Tigers lock Joe Maksymiw named captain. The squad is heavily fortified by Ireland age-grade representatives with one capped international – Robin Copeland, previously of Cardiff Blues.

First up for Connacht will be the tournament opener against New England on Saturday, with a second match against Ulster Ravens on Wednesday. Both matches will be played at Union Point Sports Complex with tickets available on the Free Jacks website.
