Roberto Tejerizo continues his Career in Romania

Former Jaguares loose head prop Roberto Tejerizo is continuing his career in Romania. Short on opportunities at Jaguares the 30-year-old has joined Baia Mare from his native Tucumán.

Tejerizo is to be the first Argentine player at Baia Mare. He leaves behind Tucumán Lawn Tennis club to play abroad for the second time. His prior experience was in South Africa for the Pampas XV, the predecessor to Super Rugby side Los Jaguares.

The veteran has been on the fringes for a long period but unable to make the step up to the test arena. His four caps came in 2011 and 2012 against Chile, and Uruguay. They were at the same time in which he was involved with the Pampas XV.

Prior to playing for the Pampas XV, Tejerizo was a Pumita. This included him playing at the 2007 Junior World Championship in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He would return to Europe later to play for the Barbarians against England, and Ireland.

Initially the third choice loose head at Los Jaguares, Tejerizo received game time in 2016 and 2017 when required. He even filled-in at hooker, earning a total of 12 appearances in Super Rugby. His matches were against the Sharks, Chiefs, Stormers, Blues, Hurricanes, Reds, Sharks, Bulls, Sunwolves, Sharks, Lions, and Southern Kings.

During this same period Tejerizo would also play for the Argentina XV, including having matches as captain. His final year in the side was in 2017 where he played against Chile, Emerging Italy, Russia, and Spain.
