RFU Championship – Week 17 Preview

It’s hard to believe but there’s only six games left in the RFU Championship season. Relegation is a very tight race but promotion less so as London Irish continue their push towards the Premiership.

As with last week the Americas Rugby Championship is keeping several players preoccupied so there are only five Americas internationals in action this weekend. Shane O’Leary starts things off for Nottingham on Friday evening when they play Hartpury, the letter currently in the hot seat for demotion.

If Ealing are going to make their move, now is the time! They could do Hartpury a favor by defeating hosts Richmond at the Athletic Ground on Saturday. Andrew Durutalo will be starting on the flank once again after his man-of-the-match performance last week.

Brett Beukeboom captains Cornish Pirates against the Jersey Reds on Sunday. Javier Rojas will start in the midfield with Matt Evans on the wing. Jersey have overtaken the Cornishmen on the table for the time being but a win could see the two teams swapping places.
