Chile ready to roll in Las Vegas

Chile will be in Brazil for the next round of the Americas Rugby Championship, but many of their best players will instead be in Las Vegas for the three-day HSBC Sevens Series event that kicks off on Friday. The Cóndores qualified for the North American leg of the circuit by winning the Sudamérica Rugby Series in January.

Led by long-time captain Felipe Brangier, Chile enters a side loaded with talent including playmaker Rodrigo Fernández and powerful forwards Martín Verschae and Ignacio Silva. The latter joins the squad directly from the ARC along with Julio Blanc, Juan Pablo Larenas, Pablo Metuaze, Francisco Urroz, and Tomás Ianiszewski.

Los Cóndores have been drawn in Pool C along with England, South Africa, and Japan. All matches will be broadcast live on ESPN in South America.
