Top 14 – Week 17 Preview

In France on Saturday the national men’s test side will look to end their miserable run when they face Scotland in the Six Nations. Meanwhile on the domestic front the Top 14 clubs will be in action with five matches taking place.

The Americas is to be represented in week 17 of the Top 14. In the opening match of the round USA Eagles second-rower Greg Peterson will play from the bench for Bordeaux-Begles who are at home against Grenoble.

On the mediterranean coast the underwire Toulon players will be looking for a big win over Pau. Julian Savea is nowhere to be seen in the match-day 23. Included is Argentine hard man Facundo Isa. The leading candidate to wear the Pumas 8 shirt at RWC 2019 will start at flanker. Former England test flanker Steffon Armitage will start for Pau. He was born in Trinidad & Tobago.

Down in Perpignan the Catalans will be looking to follow up on their win last weekend with another. They shot Agen who have named Facundo Bosch at hooker. In addition to the Argentine a second South American will receive game time at some point as Colombian Andrés Zafra has been named on the bench.

On the Atlantic coast La Rochelle play host to Stade Français. The Parisians have named Pumas fly half Nicolás Sánchez in their starting line-up and tight head prop Ramiro Herrera on the bench.

Week 17 will conclude on Sunday with two further matches. Castres will be at home against Racing 92 while Lyon receive Clermont. Pumas Patricio Fernández, Francisco Gómez Kodela, Juan Imhoff, and Benjamín Urdapilleta loom as featuring. Line-ups will be revealed on Saturday afternoon.
