Lasike Free to Face Brazil

In a turn of events Paul Lasike is now free to face Brazil. The USA Eagles inside center was red carded in the loss against the Argentina XV and subsequently handed a four week suspension.

Lasike was sent off in the match for stomping on opposition winger Matías Osadczuk. He pleaded guilty to World Rugby and prior to being cited had public apologized.

Following his suspension an appeal was made to World Rugby in which the player won and has had his sanction reduced from mid-range to low-range. Alan B. Hudson heard the appeal and determined that Lasike is now free to play for the USA in next weekend’s home test match against Brazil.

Hudson reduced the sanction by 50% which means a two-week suspension. This means that the current weekend is, in actuality, the only time in which Lasike is not free to play. With it being a bye round in the Americas Rugby Championship (ARC) neither Lasike nor the Eagles have been affected.

The USA have remaining ARC matches against Brazil in Austin, Texas; and Uruguay and Canada in Seattle, Washington.
