South American Players in MLR – Week 4 Preview

In week 4 of the MLR season there are to be four league matches. The round will see one Saturday match and three Sunday fixtures. The following preview details the involvement of South American players.

In New Orleans NOLA Gold play host to Rugby United New York. Starting for the home side will be Ignacio Dotti. The Uruguayan second-rower has been one of the stars of the MLR season thus far.

In Texas the Austin Elite will have three South Americans in their starting backline to take on the Glendale Raptors. Chilean Marcelo Torrealba will play scrum-half while Uruguayans Rodrigo Silva and Andrés Vilaseca are to form the 10-12 combination. For Silva this sees a start out of position with him primarily being a fullback.

Also on Sunday the Seattle Seawolves played host to the Toronto Arrows in a USA vs Canada MLR match. Terms outside backs Leandro Leivas, and Gastón Mieres arrived in Toronto earlier this week. Neither player will be involved against Seattle.

Not playing this weekend are the Houston SaberCats. The club has a bye which means Uruguayans Santiago Arata, Diego Magno, Alejandro Nieto, and Mateo Sanguinetti will not feature this weekend.

Finally, in California on Sunday Josh Reeves makes his debut for the Utah Warriors. The Brazilian fly half will start for the Warriors in their away match against the San Diego Legion.
