Hughes and Tomasin named to Sydney Dream Team

Two Men’s Eagles have been named to the official HSBC Dream Team for the Sydney Sevens. Team captain Madison Hughes has been rewarded for leading his team to their fourth consecutive Cup Final appearance, while starting hooker Stephen Tomasin has also been selected.

Hughes would finish second in overall points at the Sydney tournament with 35, one behind Japan’s Katsuyuki Sakai. It’s the second Dream Team selection for Hughes this season. Tomasin’s overall form including his outstanding support play have earned him recognition for the first time this season.

Selected as forwards alongside Tomasin are Fiji’s Mesulame Kunavula and Sam Dickson of New Zealand. The tournament winners also contribute Kurt Baker to the backs. Fiji’s Alasio Naduva and England winger Dan Norton complete the select side.
