San Diego to host Glendale in preseason contest

The San Diego Legion will host the Glendale Raptors in a Major League Rugby preseason contest on Sunday, January 13 at Torero Stadium. Tickets are now available online for the 2pm fixture, which will be free of charge for season ticket holders. A live stream has not been confirmed at the time of writing.

It’s just the second warm-up fixture for the Legion, who opened their calendar year with a short-notice run-out against Life West on the weekend. With 11 new players in the squad there is little time left for the team to come together ahead of their January 27 regular season opener against Rugby United New York.

Glendale have a number of new bodies themselves but the majority have already suited up for the team during their four fall exhibition matches. This will be the first match of 2019 for the Raptors, who also begin their 2019 MLR campaign on January 27 with a road game against the Seattle Seawolves.
