This weekend saw some key performances from Argentine players in Europe. Top of the list was Benjamín Urdapilleta. The Castres fly half scored 11 points to guide his team past Grenoble on Saturday. Urdapilleta converted the game’s only try and landed three penalties.
The away victory sees Castres moving above Montpellier into 8th position in the Top 14. Four places above are Stade Français, the home of fellow Argentine fly half Nicolás Sánchez. The Parisians enjoyed a strong home boys point win this weekend. The 27-8 downing of Perpignan included five points from Sánchez.
In the middle of 2019 the Top 14 will be home to another Puma, Santiago Cordero. The Argentine winger is joining Bordeaux from the Exeter Chiefs on a new two year deal. Cordero took to the field in England this weekend and came away with a try in a winning effort over the Bristol Bears.
