New York and Toronto book preseason match in Buffalo

Rugby United New York and the Toronto Arrows have booked a preseason tilt for January 12. The fixture will serve as the final tune-up for both teams before the Major League Rugby regular season kicks off two weeks later and it will be unique, taking place indoors at the ADPRO Sports Field House – the training facility of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.

This will be the second time the two teams have met. The first was played at Iona College on March 17 of last year with the Arrows playing under their previous Ontario banner. A second match was scheduled to take place in Toronto on April 14 but was postponed due to an untimely ice storm.

Both teams have won both of their exhibition matches to date. Toronto defeated the Glendale Raptors in September and the New England Free Jacks in October. New York played two matches in December, first edging the Free Jacks in Boston and then routing the Capital Selects in New Rochelle.

Kickoff for the January 12 match is set for 4pm local. Admission is free but space is limited with standing room only. There is no live stream planned at this time.
