South Africa Include Blitzboks for Punta del Este

Blitzboks players Ryan Oosthuizen, James Murphy and Heino Bezuidenhout, have all been included in South Africa’s roster for Punta de Este. This coming weekend’s international competition in Uruguay is the first of two events of the 2019 Sudamerica Rugby Sevens. 

South Africa enter as the reigning champions, having won the 2018 titles in Punta del Este, Uruguay and Viña del Mar, Chile.   

Also on the roster are Sako Makata, Luyanda Mngidi, Donovan du Randt, Angus van Niekerk, Kurt-Lee Arendse, Angelo Davids and Ilunga Mukendi. All of them travelled to Dubai Sevens tournament in November and a re looking to breakthrough into the Blitzboks. 

Returning from the 2018 tournaments in Punta del Este and Viña del Mar are Oosthuizen and Davids. They are joined by fellow returnees Henk Cilliers, and Wayne van der Bank.  

South Africa are grouped in Pool B for the Seven Punta. They are to play against Colombia, Russia and Uruguay.
