Top 14 – Week 13 Preview

Professional rugby in France for 2018 will conclude this weekend with Week 13 of the Top 14. In action are to be players from the Americas. Their involvement is documented in the following preview.

Week 13 will open on Saturday in Lyon. The home side’s decision to focus on the Top 14 and sacrifice the Champions Cup has achieved the desired results thus far. A win over Agen this weekend would further it. The team has named former Puma Francisco Gómez Kodela at tight head. Agen will start 2018 Puma Facundo Bosch at hooker and Colombian Andrés Zafra at lock.

In Paris Nicolás Sánchez will start against Grenoble. The all-time leading Pumas scorer will play fly half for trade Français in his second Top 14 match since joining the club. Argentine-Italian Sergio Parisse will feature for Stade Français as a replacement forward.

A second Argentine fly half will start in France on Saturday with Benjamín Urdapilleta facing La Rochelle. The best no 10 in France in 2018 will be looking to get Castres back to winning ways after failing to perform last weekend.

There are to be three Sunday fixtures this weekend. Montpellier, Bordeaux, and Toulouse are at home against Pau, Racing 92, and Toulon respectively. Line-ups for all matches will be named on Saturday afternoon.
