Pro D2 – Week 16 Preview

Before christmas arrives there is time for one final round of the Pro D2. Week 16 of France’s second division will have matches on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. The following preview details the involvement of Americas’ players.

Opening Wee 16 will be the Thursday fixture. Down in Basque country Biarritz are at home to south-west rivals Mont de Marsan. The visitors have named four South Americans in their starting line-up. Uruguayan Agustín Ormaechea will play scrum half, Carlos Muzzio and Jerónimo Negrotto will be the props while Leandro Cedaro will play second-row.

On Friday Aix en Provence are at home against Bayonne. Argentine prop Leandro Mario Assi will feature from the bench for the hosts while former Puma Martín Bustos Moyano is to start at fullback for Bayonne.

Another Argentine prop will feature on Friday. Starting at tight head for Charente will be Joel Antonio Sclavi. Chilean Pablo Huete joins him in the starting line-up named to play at home against Massy.

Down in Carcassonne Argentine second-rower Demien Panizzo will get another start. He has been named in the second-row to face Aurillac at home on Friday.

Three further Argentine players will feature in Friday’s final fixture. Starting at fly half for Colomiers will be Sebastián Poet. Former Pumas hooker Agustín Costa Repetto will feature from the bench for his side while 2016 Olympian Axel Muller is to be among Brive’s replacements.

Completing the round will be a Sunday fixture. Bourg en Bresse are at home against Oyonnax in a derby. Team line-ups for the fixture will not be announced until Saturday afternoon.
