Jaguares Add Former Pumas Fly Half to Coaching Staff

Los Jaguares preparations continue for the 2019 Super Rugby season. In charge of the team as Head Coach will be Gonzalo Quesada and Andrés Bordoy is the forwards coach. A third member has now been confirmed by Quesada with former Pumas fly half Juan de la Cruz Fernández Miranda joining the team.

Aged 44, Fernández Miranda is the brother of Nicolás Fernández Miranda, an assistant coach to Mario Ledesma with Los Pumas. The pair were coaches of Los Jaguares in the 2018 Super Rugby season before making the step up to Argentina’s senior men’s team.

The move means Juan de la Cruz, or ‘Manasa’ will coach at the professional level for the first time. Like his brother he joins Los Jaguares following a successful time coaching Hindú in Buenos Aires.

Also joining the Jaguares staff are the assistant staff from Los Pumas. Conrado López Alonso is to be the team medic while Ramiro Peman, and Marcos Cusi will work as video analyst and team manager respectively.

Manasa Fernández Miranda earned 29 caps for Argentina. He was a Puma from 1997-2007 and played in two pool matches during RWC 2003. He started at center against Namibia and at fly half against Romania. His return was 16 points from these two matches.
