Referees for 2019 Americas Rugby Championship

The match officials for the 2019 Americas Rugby Championship (ARC) bring new light to the growing importance of the tournament. For the fourth edition of the competition there are to be referees from all six countries, something that has never happened before.

Representing Chile will be Frank Méndez. He joins regulars Federico Anselmi (Argentina), Pali Deluca (Argentina), Francisco González (Uruguay), Joaquín Montes (Uruguay), Henrique Platais (Brazil), Damian Schneider (Argentina), and Derek Summers (USA).

Moe Chaudhry is also included. He makes the step up after previously officiated Rugby Americas North fixtures earlier this year. He takes over as Canada’s referee in the tournament from Chris Assmus.

The appointment of Méndez sees a Chilean taking charge of a test match for the first time in five years. Méndez will officiate Brazil vs Canada in round two of the ARC.
