Isa signs new three-year deal with Toulon

Toulon have signed Puma Facundo Isa in a new three-year deal. The No8 from Santiago del Estero joined the French side from rivals Lyon in June 2017. He did so after departing Los Jaguares prior to the beginning of the 2017 Super Rugby season.

Isa’s debut season saw him being among the leading back-rowers in both the Top 14 and the Champions Cup. He suffered a knee injury in April which turned-out to be season ending and required surgery. The match was against last seasons’s champions, Castres.

Since April the Argentine forward has been recuperating and is now approaching a return to playing. He is expected to feature for Los Pumas at RWC 2019 and is in the projected starting line-up joining Marcos Kremer and captain Pablo Matera in the back-row. He was unable to add to his 25 test caps in 2018.

Last season was a busy one for Isa with him playing 26 matches for Toulon. Six of them were in the Champions Cup. The new deal will see Isa remaining at Toulon until 2022.
