Austin confirm Sebastián Kalm signing

Austin Elite have confirmed the signing of Chilean No8 Sebastián Kalm for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old joins from the New Orleans Gold. Kalm was limited to just two regular season games after injuring his neck but remains a top shelf signing for the Elite, who have moved to fill the gap left by the retired Pedrie Wannenburg.

Injury has slowed the momentum of Kalm which had otherwise been on a steep upwards trajectory. After a stellar collegiate career at Lindenwood he was named Most Valuable Player of the 2016 PRO Rugby season while playing a starring role for the Ohio Aviators.

Equally adept at playing openside flanker or No8, his carrying ability and supreme fitness make him a consistent standout at any level. Despite playing for Chile at u20 level Kalm has expressed his interest in representing the US Eagles at the World Cup. He qualifies on residency but has yet to earn recognition from Eagles selectors.
