The Future of South America Battle it Out in Asunción

On Friday and today the future of South America battled it out in Asunción, Paraguay. The 2018 Sudamérica Rugby U18s involved Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. It was the first edition of the competition in the region.

The competition took place at the Estadio Héroes de Curupayty, the home of Paraguayan rugby. The home supporters were given a win and a loss on the opening day as Paraguay defeated Brazil 25-19 but fell 49-0 against Argentina.

Argentina and Uruguay were both unbeaten on day one. The former were given a quality match by Chile on day one.

On day two Chile completed comprehensive wins over Paraguay and Brazil while Uruguay was given a scare by Paraguay. In the final match Uruguay fell 5-0 to Argentina in a low-scoring fixture. With it Argentina were crowned champions.
