The Glendale Raptors have confirmed the signing of Eagles flanker Hanco Germishuys for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. A move rumored for several weeks, the 22-year-old returns to Glendale after a two-year spell in Texas first with the Huns and then Austin Elite this past season.
It’s a major addition for the Raptors, who can now boast an all-Eagles loose forward trio with John Quill and Malon Al-Jiboori also on their roster. Germishuys and Quill have been working in tandem for the USA during their November tour and are already well acquainted with each other.
Glendale have also confirmed the re-signing of several returning players. Props Kelepi Fifita, Blake Rogers, and Luke White; second row Kody O’Neil; flanker Connor Cook; Eagles halfback pair Shaun Davies and Will Magie; midfield trio Mika Kruse, Chad London, and Ata Malifa; and winger Harley Davidson have all officially re-upped. South African scrumhalf Carlo de Nysschen has also been promoted from the academy squad to a senior deal.
