Pro D2 – Week 13 Preview

Week 13 of the Pro D2 kicks-off today. The French second division is a competition featuring a number of players from the Americas. The following preview details their involvement in the upcoming round of the competition.

Opening the round is Mont de Marsan vs Brive. Both are former Top 14 clubs and both would rarely love to return to the national elite competition. Fresh off beating Romania is Uruguayan scrum half Agustín Ormaechea. He will feature as a replacement for Mont de Marsan as will Argentine prop Jerónimo Negrotto.

On Friday six matches will be played though Americas involvement will be reduced from the norm. On the bench for Aix en Provence will be Leandro Mario Assi. The Argentine prop will be looking for game time in his team’s away match against Montauban.

Starting at home for Charente will be Chilean Pablo Huete. He will play second-row while Argentine Joel Sclavi is among the replacements. Charente are up against Colomiers who have former Pumas hooker Agustín Costa Repetto and fly half Sebastián Poet both starting. On the bench will be flanker Martín Chiappesoni.

Closing Week 13 will be Nevers vs Carcassonne. With it being a Sunday fixture line-up’s for the match will not be released until Saturday afternoon.
