Americas Rankings – November 18 2018

Following the completion of international competition this weekend the Americas Rankings can be updated. Recalculations have been made to take into account matches involving two test sides this weekend.

Canada’s vital RWC qualifying victory over Germany sees the North Americans gaining 1.05 rankings points. It sees no rise in placement due to Spain also winning this weekend.

The big climbers this week are the USA Eagles. The team’s 31-5 win over Romania represents a 1.34 point gain. This sees the USA moving up two places in the World Rankings to 13th overall. The Eagles have notably overtaken both Georgia and Italy.

Uruguay’s 68-7 hammering at the hands of Fiji does not see any alteration in the rankings. Fiji went into the match ranked considerably higher meaning they had nothing to gain from a win against Los Teros.

Argentina’s 28-13 defeat against France means a point loss of 0.68 to the Europeans. This is insufficient for Argentina to fall in the Americas or World Rankings.

Both Chile and Paraguay also had matches this weekend. Yet with them facing the Maori All Blacks and Sudamérica XV respectively no rankings points were on the line.

International competition will resume on Friday. The Americas Rankings will be updated following the Saturday fixtures.
